About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Talent Acquisition to own and execute Nelo’s recruiting strategy across Mexico and the U.S. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you will directly source, engage, and close top talent across engineering, data science, risk, and commercial functions.

You will report directly to the CTO and will work closely with the CEO and other senior leaders.

Initially, this will be an individual contributor role — you will be both strategist and executor, building the recruiting engine from the ground up. As we scale, you will have the opportunity to grow into a leadership role and build a team around you.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own full-cycle recruiting across functions and levels — from sourcing and outreach through closing candidates.

  • Partner directly with the executive team to define role requirements, assess candidates, and drive hiring decisions.

  • Proactively source passive candidates and build strong talent pipelines for critical roles.

  • Develop recruiting processes to maximize speed, quality, and candidate experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of recruiting/talent acquisition experience, including proven success in high-growth technology companies.

  • Track record of independently sourcing and closing top technical, product, and business candidates.

  • Strong understanding of recruiting tools, sourcing strategies, and funnel optimization.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust with both candidates and executives.

  • Hands-on, scrappy, and execution-oriented — comfortable owning results without a large team or infrastructure.

  • Proficient in English and Spanish
