Financial Analyst
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will lead the financial planning and forecasting activities of the organization utilizing data from the financial systems as well as the client services database and other operational sources.
You will provide insightful performance analyses and reporting to the leadership team, highlighting trends, opportunities and areas requiring corrective actions and performance improvement.
Key responsibilities of the position:
- Manage the processes for performance analysis and reporting, integrating financial and operational information to provide meaningful, timely and accurate information to stakeholders.
- Manage the budget and forecasting processes within established approval timelines and high-level planning assumptions.
- Assist the Finance Manager in maintaining the financial system structures, accounting processes and internal controls to ensure accurate accounting that complies with GAAP, non for profit and Ontario Healthcare Reporting standards.
What you bring to the role:
- CPA Accounting Designation (or pursuing) combined with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Proven financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Vena Solutions preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a background in decision support and a demonstrated ability to provide guidance and support to non-finance managers.
- Technical savvy, able to troubleshoot system issues and adjust/maintain configurations to meet changing business needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Strong team player, eager to learn and to share knowledge, willingness to assist other members of team when work demands are high.
- Experience in health care (Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards) an asset.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office 365 and familiarity with TEAMS.
- Experience with GoldCare an asset.
- Fluency in both official languages (English & French), or other languages, an asset.
