About the job

Basic Function

Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc. (PCLI), an HF Sinclair company is seeking a full-time Financial Analyst. Reporting to the Sr. Advisor, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), the incumbent is an integral part of the FP&A team for the Lubricants division. Responsibilities will include execution of key monthly financial reports, capital project stewardship, profitability analysis and supporting the annual budget cycle. In addition, this role will aid a variety of strategy initiatives across the organization. This position works cross-functionally with Accounting, Pricing, Sales, Marketing, and other departments to capture key insights and help leadership translate these insights into actionable changes that drive business improvements. This role focuses on Lubricants FP&A and reports under the Corporate FP&A team.

Job Duties

  • Support budget development for HF Sinclair’s Lubricant & Specialties (L&S) division
  • Provide Sales & Marketing with periodic performance data and insights
  • Support month-end financial analysis
  • Support Pricing team initiatives with analysis and insights
  • Ad hoc commercial/sales analysis
  • Develop economic modelling and forecasting for L&S strategic projects
  • Project set-up for Sales, Lubeplex (Manufacturing), Global Suppy Chain, IT and Researh & Development capital projects
  • Purchase requisition set-up and purchase order issuance for Research & Development projects
  • Day-to-day management of processing Sales equipment orders, working with Global Supply Chain and vendors. Maintenance of sales capex tracker and quarterly updates to Sales Directors
  • Maintenance of Loaned Equipment Contracts in Salesforce (CRM), including monthly upload of SAP Business Warehouse data actuals
  • Provide ad hoc analytical support to Lubricants’ global sales force for strategic decisions and negotiations

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounting, Finance or Performance management is required
  • Additional experience within the Lubricants Sales, Marketing, or Pricing is also an asset

Education Level

  • University Degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or equivalent

  • Working knowledge of corporate financial reporting practices and analysis is preferred
  • Experience working with SAP/BPC/BEX accounting, sales and financial queries is an asset
  • Working knowledge of budgeting and sales planning processes is preferred
  • Ability to develop, maintain and interpret various financial reporting models and charts is a strong asset
