Good Shepherd Episcopal School is seeking a positive and collaborative individual as an Extended Day Teacher. The Extended Day Teacher will serve and supervise small groups of students in various activities. This position reports to the Director of Extended Day.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well being of the children at all times, the program runs Monday - Friday 2:00-6:00pm.
- Take attendance daily, ensuring accuracy
- Collect after-school children daily and maintain an accurate roster with individual exceptions
- Monitor reading and homework times
- Maintain and practice positive discipline techniques
- Report to the Director of Extended Day any special needs or individual situations for children
IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL NEED:
- A college or university degree, preferred or in progress.
- Experience working with children.
- To commit to this position for a minimum of one school year.
- The ability to work in a highly stressful environment, dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and an array of contacts.
