Role Overview:

The company is seeking a visionary Engineering Leader to drive innovation and scale its cloud platform. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, this strategic role will define and execute the engineering strategy, develop scalable SaaS platforms, and leverage AWS/Azure cloud technologies to deliver cutting-edge solutions.

Key responsibilities include architecting large-scale cloud services, creating developer-friendly APIs, and building a millisecond-latency event processing pipeline.

The Director of Engineering will build, grow, and mentor a high-performing team, set goals, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in CloudOps, SaaS platforms, system architecture, and a proven track record of leading teams to deliver at scale.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Implementation

  • Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of the Cloud Management Platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Define system architecture across offerings and guide teams in AWS and cloud-native technologies.
  • Establish design reviews and development best practices to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Articulate and drive the engineering vision in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing team, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Ensure effective knowledge sharing through technical documentation and knowledge sessions.
  • Inspire and motivate the team, drive cross-functional synergies and have impact in the overall organisational decision making

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Implement best practices across IaC, automation, DevOps, and security.
  • Drive incident response, resilience, and compliance while optimizing performance and costs.
  • Enhance agile development, CI/CD pipelines, and operational efficiency.

Innovation & Technology Advancement

  • Identify and integrate emerging cloud technologies (serverless, microservices, edge computing).
  • Drive AI-powered automation, self-healing systems, and intelligent infrastructure optimization.

Budgeting & Cost Management

  • Oversee budgeting, expense monitoring, and financial planning for the engineering department
