Job Description
We are seeking a motivated DevOps Engineer to join our technology team. You are someone who brings extensive experience around architecting AWS deployments using AWS best practices. You will work in a collaborative environment and support/enhance infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, reliability and security for Safely’s production systems. This role is fully remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage the infrastructure needed to run Safely applications
- Update and maintain all the core systems necessary to maintain technology operations in AWS and all secondary cloud platforms
- Implement and maintain system monitoring, alerts and logging to track application availability and performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure the stability and availability of applications
- Manage and setup automated CI/CD pipelines
- Maintain and update the company’s disaster recovery procedures
- Serve as a point of contact with other vendors and providers as needed to implement new applications and support existing ones
- Participate in technical discussions and contribute to overall architecture and evolution
- Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role
- Strong experience with AWS and Kubernetes
- Experience managing JVM applications
- Proactive, comfortable in an agile environment
- Experience and familiarity with best practices for managing CI/CD pipelines using CircleCI or a similar tool
- Experience with AWS RDS (MySQL)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing Kafka (self-managed or AWS MSK) and MongoDB is a plus
- Experience with ArgoCD is a plus
- Experience with an IaC tool like Terraform is a plus
