The Role & Key Responsibilities:
This role serves as a trusted adviser and business partner to support Apex Group’s compliance function in Asia Pacific. Asia Pacific region includes Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore & New Zealand. The candidate, as one of the regional support hub members, will work closely with the local Compliance Team, other regional support hub members and stakeholders to deliver compliance support to the region.
• Work together with other regional support hub members, the country or jurisdictional Compliance team and other stakeholders to prepare for and finalize the regular compliance reports and handle other regional coordination tasks (e.g. transaction monitoring and testing exercises etc.) and projects as appropriate.
• General scope of work as expected from compliance officer would fall within the coverage of this role. This role will also have an opportunity to work closely with our PRC compliance teams on local matters in light of the location advantage.
• Assist in drafting, updating, implementing and enforcing the Apex Group Compliance framework and requirements in APAC and work with stakeholders regionally and globally on relevant matters.
• Render support on various projects, including Apex Group’s M&A projects leading to the successful integration with the M&A targets.
• Keep abreast of the legal and regulatory changes and advise the Asia Pacific practice of Apex Group as appropriate.
• Identify workflow and logistic improvement opportunities.
• Other tasks as assigned from time to time.
Candidate Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of solid compliance experience with success & stable track record and added advantage with experience relevant to Apex Group’s business (http://www.apexgroup.com.).
• Recognized compliance qualification (or equivalent) e.g. ACAMS certification or other professional compliance qualifications.
• Fluency in written and spoken English with strong people management & communication skills to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical capability, being able to work independently and working as a team player.
• Good understanding of financial services regulations and AML guidelines.
• Reliable, adaptable, motivated, and able to perform under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Results-driven with the ability to think outside the box for both routine and non routine tasks.
• Organized, self-disciplined, and capable of prioritizing tasks effectively.
• Proficient in PC applications.
