Starting Pay Range: $145,404.00 - $171,064.00, annually

Job Summary:

The Chief Operations Officer is responsible for all clinic administrative operations and leads all human resources and workforce development functions assuring they are aligned with organizational goals and promoting Pueblo Community Health Center’s Core Values and service culture. Leads, coordinates and accountable for strategic initiatives. Actively participates as a member of the executive management team and develops strong working relationships.

 

Education/Experience/License/Certification:

  • Master’s Degree in field relevant to health care is required. Other fields of study may be considered.
  • At least three years’ experience in a senior healthcare management position is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree may be considered if the degree is relevant to health care, human services or business and significant health care management and leadership experience is applicable.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance as required by law

 

Required Travel:
Frequent travel is required, including day-to-day local travel for business meetings, community events, etc., of which some may occur during evenings and weekends.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of the health care business environment.
  • Knowledge of procurement systems
  • Knowledge of human resource management laws, regulations, and principles.
  • Knowledge of human resource systems development and management.
  • Knowledge of clinic operations issues, to include medical records and patient flow.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Facilities Management principles.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Risk Management principles.
  • Knowledge of Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care or other accrediting agency issues and requirements.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations.
  • Knowledge of facility systems development and management.
  • Knowledge of grant writing, business planning and policy/procedure development.
  • Knowledge of emergency preparedness and business continuity readiness.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Essential to have ability to understand verbal information/instruction, to exchange verbal information with others and ability to present information/instruction verbally.
  • Ability to conceptualize and deal with issues within a system context, i.e., “sees the big picture” and understands interrelationships.
  • Ability to effectively supervise multiple functions and activities, delegating authority and responsibility as appropriate.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people, including employees, patients, public officials and the general public.
  • Ability to manage conflict.
  • Ability to read and understand written materials and ability to compose information and instruction in written form.
  • Essential to be able to reason mathematically and to have analytical and problem-solving skills.
