Boston Metal is commercializing cutting edge extractive metallurgy technology that will revolutionize primary metals production, while decreasing cost and lowering environmental impact. This fast-paced startup company is looking for an organized, people-oriented, resilient, deadline-driven, tech-savvy Business Systems Analyst.


The Business Systems Analyst works under the Information Systems Team Lead to support all aspects of our business systems, ensuring that it meets the needs of our rapidly growing company. This role will work closely with user groups, functional managers, and project management to identify process enhancements and systems design opportunities, and to improve the efficiency of the systems. This position will work to solve organizational process problems by analyzing requirements and recommending system changes and procedures. This position is a hybrid role and will be based at Boston Metal’s headquarters in Woburn, MA. Additional off-hours or weekend availability may also be necessary for critical business or project needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to business systems, including system design, training materials, workflows, and procedures.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of business system implementation projects, ensuring all technical and business requirements are met.
  • Manage and prioritize system enhancements and bug fixes with the vendor and internal stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, working with the vendor and other teams as needed.
  • Train new users on the system and provide ongoing support to existing users.
  • Perform system testing, data validation, and integration testing as required.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure that the system is running efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the organization to identify and prioritize system enhancements, customizations, and integrations.
  • Manage data integrity and data governance within business systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and security.


Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment as a Business System Admin or related field.
  • Strong understanding of business system concepts, modules, and business processes, such as finance & accounting, supply chain, or manufacturing.
  • Experience with implementing, configuring, and supporting business systems.
  • Experience with system testing, including test planning, execution, and defect management.
  • Strong technical skills in business systems, databases, and reporting.

We operate pilot plants and labs and many of our staff members are required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and you should be prepared to do so as well when necessary.
