The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer plays a critical role in transforming data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making across the organization. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions – including dashboards, reports, and data models – that enable stakeholders to understand performance, identify trends, and uncover opportunities for improvement. The BI Developer collaborates closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and IT project teams to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and relevance, driving a data-informed culture throughout the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
· Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, visualizations, and data models using BI tools and technologies (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Power Automate, Power Query M, DAX)
· Translate business requirements into technical specifications and BI solutions
· Build and optimize data models to support reporting and analytics needs
· Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from multiple sources
· Partner with business stakeholders to understand business needs, deliver actionable insights, triage issues, and ensure data governance and performance
· Support the migration of enterprise reporting from on-prem SQL Server to Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Lake environments
· Collaborate with data engineers to reverse-engineer legacy ETL/reporting pipelines and modernize them for cloud-based delivery
· Define data integration strategies, including real-time data integration, batch processing, and data replication to meet business needs
· Assist with the creation and maintenance of Fabric Dataflows, Pipelines, and semantic models
· Analyze structured schema modules and build scalable, reusable reporting solutions aligned to business needs
· Monitor and troubleshoot BI systems to ensure performance and reliability
· Maintain documentation for BI solutions, data models, and reporting processes
· Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement
· Support data governance and compliance initiatives by implementing best practices in data management
· Architect field and object level security in reports
· Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and reporting capabilities
· Stay current with BI technologies and trends to continuously improve solutions and processes
