About Redwood Materials
Business Analyst
We are seeking a Business Analyst to join the team at Redwood Materials. You’ll be responsible for all things data within the Business Development (Sales & Sourcing) and Market Strategy team. You will map out & track partnerships within the electric vehicle supply chain. You’ll gain an understanding of the current and forecasted market size, supply & demand balance for key battery components and metals and identify gaps/opportunities or Redwood’s products and services.
Responsibilities will include:
- You should be skilled at manipulating data with tools including Excel, SQL, enterprise and customer relationship management systems, market data sources, etc.
- Develop business cases and justify them with an actual executable plan. Develop KPIs for the business and hold the org (and yourself) to them (think Excel, PowerBI).
- The ability to be able to mine our internal systems & data (Oracle, etc.) and collect external data too (pricing, market demand, etc.). Developing a solid understanding of our industry (recycling and battery materials, both copper foil and cathode), our market (battery cell and EV OEMs) as well as technology trends is critical.
- Leverage Business Intelligence software (ex: PowerBI, Tableau) to track inventory volumes, statuses, and values. Maintaining existing critical business dashboards, handle ad-hoc data requests, and track progress towards KPIs.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, business administration/finance, or similar.
- 2+ years’ experience in business/data analytics, business/product management, consulting, or corporate strategy; global commercial experience is a plus.

- Results oriented: we’re in a hurry - a sense of pace and urgency is critical.
- Our business is “dynamic,” meaning our market and we can change quickly. You’ll need to be comfortable in a startup environment. Think independent, motivated, self-starter.
- Strong analytical skills are needed. You should be able to interpret data/analysis and intuitively identify/troubleshoot gaps in quantitative analysis. Distilling data into actionable recommendations is key.
- You won’t have the entire organization reporting to you, but you’ll need to be able to influence them to accomplish your goals. An ability to foster and maintain relationships both internally and externally is essential.
- A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!
The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
