Are you an experienced Cloud Engineer with hands-on expertise in AWS, Terraform, and CloudFormation? Peraton is seeking a talented and driven Cloud Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. In this exciting role, you will be at the forefront of developing, deploying, and managing innovative cloud solutions for the Intelligence Community, ensuring the success of mission-critical applications.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design & Develop Cloud Applications: Create scalable, reliable cloud-based solutions that directly support mission-critical Intelligence Community operations.
- Manage Cloud Environments: Ensure cloud environments are secure, optimized, and compliant with company standards.
- Deploy & Troubleshoot Cloud Initiatives: Oversee cloud projects through the entire development lifecycle, using your problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues early.
- Proactive Issue Resolution: Anticipate potential problems and implement solutions to prevent disruptions or downtime.
- Evaluate New Cloud Technologies: Work closely with the team and sponsors to evaluate the latest cloud technologies and determine their potential impact on enterprise applications.
- Backup & Data Management: Manage cloud data backups and restoration processes using AWS tools like EBS volumes and snapshots.
- Collaborative Development: Collaborate with fellow engineers and developers to design and implement optimal cloud solutions for complex challenges.
- Monitoring & Alerting: Set up and maintain monitoring tools to quickly identify and address issues across development, test, and production environments.
- Linux & Scripting: Configure and monitor Linux-based systems, leveraging tools like netstat, vi, and custom scripts for efficient operation.
- S3 & DNS Management: Manage S3 buckets and DNS requests, ensuring seamless data integrity and availability.
- SSL & Security Management: Regularly update SSL certificates for AWS RDS databases, ensuring robust security practices are followed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI Security Clearance with Relevant Polygraph.
- Experience:
- BS/BA + 8 years of experience, or MS/MA + 6 years in cloud engineering, or PhD + 3 years; 4 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- AWS Expertise: Hands-on experience with AWS services such as SNS/SQS, Lambda, VPC, and S3, and familiarity with infrastructure automation tools like Jenkins, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
- Agile Experience: Comfortable working in an Agile development environment with a focus on delivering results in a fast-paced setting.
Desired Qualifications:
- AWS Certifications: AWS certifications to demonstrate your expertise.
- Programming Skills: Experience with Java or Python is a plus.
- SecDevOps Knowledge: Understanding of security in the DevOps process.
- CI/CD Experience: Practical experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
