Job Description – Aviation Line Technician
American Patrols is looking to hire an Aviation Line Technician to assist in facilitating ground operations for our growing (and busy) Pipeline Patrol company. You will be given tasks to complete each day that will center around maneuvering, towing, refueling, and light maintenance of our fleet of over 32 Cessna aircraft.
You will tow aircraft, perform refuel operations, and various maintenance activities. Once trained you will conduct oil changes and other light maintenance tasks not requiring special licensure. Line technicians are also responsible for facilities maintenance and upkeep for Skywest Airport. To be successful in this position, you will need to be dedicated to teamwork and hard work. You will need to have a background in general handyman tasks, be coachable, focused on moving expensive aircraft with zero mishaps, and very capable of learning on the job.

Responsibilities
Exemplify the company’s core values to teammates through both your words and actions. Enable API to fulfill its Mission to be our Customers’ most trusted leak detection service.
Tow aircraft safely, and without damage to aircraft, in support of refuel operations and maintenance tasks. Park and “bed down” aircraft.
Perform general facilities maintenance including but not limited to mowing and weed control, light plumbing, painting, and runway / taxiway maintenance.
Receive fuel deliveries from delivery drivers; document process properly.
Maintaining aircraft and equipment appearance by cleaning, washing, and vacuuming.
Clean and maintain all buildings (FBO, hangars, etc.) and Fuel equipment.
Perform routine, light maintenance tasks not requiring special licensure (ex: oil change).
Ensuring a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Assist in inventory control efforts by moving boxes, stocking parts, inventorying parts, creating reports.
Keeping supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders as authorized, and verifying receipt.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to lift and carry 70-lbs from floor to waist level or higher on a continuous basis if required; able to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, crawling, and twisting for extended amounts of time. Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position; ability to wear PPE (personal protective equipment) such as ear protection, safety glasses, gloves, high visibility clothing when required. This is an airport environment with duties both indoor and outdoor. Must be able to withstand extreme outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperature ranges will be encountered.
Must have basic math skills to add, subtract, and convert gallons into pounds.
Familiarity with mechanical tasks and techniques.
Must be able to work holidays and weekends.
Must be willing to relocate to Midland, TX.
A 1-year commitment is required.
