Our client is a leading privately held and growing manufacturer that provides innovative solutions to a wide variety of clients within the packaging industry. In this automation engineering role, you will be responsible for full spectrum automation engineering tasks from concept to hand off to the production floor.

Position Overview
- As subject matter expert, lead projects with responsibility for planning and scheduling in a cross functional setting
- Improve existing products and processes while offering solutions to expand product line
- Design electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
- Design, develop and program PLC, HMI, and motion controls from scratch
- Develop new electrical designs for both standard and custom equipment
- Develop software for robotic systems
- Oversee project panel builds and if required build electrical panels from the ground up
- Develop and set up vision systems for applications such as angle detection, orientation detection, and feature detection using various tools
- Ability to travel periodically for startups, installations, and to resolve field issues
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- At least 5 years experience of automation and controls engineering
- Interest in being part of a team oriented setting while contributing to a positive company culture
- Proficiency programming Allen Bradley controls
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
