Responsibilities
· Provide engineering support to maintenance and operations within respective department (Continuous thermal/coating treatment and Finishing operations).
· Lead area level 2 engineering and provide support for achieving plant’s safety, customer, quality, sustainability, and profit objectives.
· Collaborate with operations team members, troubleshoot system process issues, and provide engineered solutions to the problems.
· Develop and maintain level 2 procedures and documentation.
· Support for restoration of flow during breakdowns by providing expert knowledge to operations and maintenance personnel.
· Develop capital improvement projects, associated timelines, and oversee project executions.
· Become the level 2 expert for the department, providing technical leadership, mentoring, and upskilling of staff that support the department.
Qualifications
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, or software Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent demonstrated competency in required areas.
· Legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility is required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is NOT available.
· Communications skills, both oral and written, to convey information at all levels of the organization.
· Work effectively on plant wide interdisciplinary teams across departmental boundaries to achieve common goals.
· 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment required. Metals industry experience for sheet production a plus.
· Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
· An understanding of structured problem-solving methods and how to apply them
· Ability to configure, program, and support automation systems. Examples of systems in use include Siemens PLCs, WinCC and numerous Windows based applications.
· Proven experience with .NET and procedural programming languages (ANSI C, C++, C#) to develop or enhance applications on existing automaton systems.
· Familiarity with the development of multithreading processes and client server implementation will be beneficial.
· Experience with Database Administration for databases residing on the automation systems.
· Be capable of creating SQL scripts to support data analytics and integration with data historian products.
· Experience managing process data historians, associated camera systems linked to the historian, and the hardware architecture supporting it.
· Have a great understanding and be capable of troubleshooting communications issues across the automation systems. This implies an understanding of Ethernet protocol and the layered protocols (examples OPC and ProfiNet) that are used on the automation systems.
