Independent Financial Group, LLC (IFG), a leading independent broker-dealer based in San Diego, CA, is seeking an Associate Advisor Consultant to support the operations of the Insurance and Annuity Department and provide support to the Regional Advisory Consultants out in the field. This Associate position will be trained for upward mobility into a Regional Advisory Consultant position or Department Leadership position.
The IFG Insurance and Annuity Department serves as a platform to facilitate variable and fixed insurance product sales. The department offers investment advisors support through the coordination of resources, including MGAs and direct carrier relationships. The division maintains selling agreements with insurance companies, manages strategic relationships, and is responsible for product due diligence, while offering expertise-driven support to advisors on all insurance planning matters.
What You'll Do
Provide insurance and annuity support to IFG Regional Advisor Consultants, to include running projections, following up on activity generated by the RAC, and seeking out opportunities to introduce insurance and annuity solutions to Investment Advisors with varying degrees of insurance sales experience.
Provide operational support to the Insurance and Annuity Department Director.
Post content and updates to the insurance and annuity pages of IFGSD.com.
Write original articles for IFG publications.
Generate monthly sales reports.
Operate the Annuity Technology desk, providing support and training to IFG Reps on due diligence and electronic application systems.
Deliver educational content, resources, and tools to IFG Investment Advisors, both synchronously and asynchronously – including at in-person company events and conferences – to enable Advisors to effectively integrate insurance and annuity planning into their business practices.
Apply annuity and insurance expertise in providing hands-on support for Investment Advisors.
Make proactive outbound sales calls to IFG Advisors promoting Insurance and Annuity offerings and uncovering opportunities to cross-sell products.
What You’ll Bring
4-year or advanced college degree preferred. Equivalent work and management experience considered.
Annuity Desk experience. Life insurance experience is a plus.
Able to demonstrate a strong annuity IQ, to include the application of annuities to financial planning.
Have functional knowledge of IFG Annuity Partners products to help make recommendations in a product desk role.
Possess a working knowledge of the regulations, current legislation, and other regulatory pressures affecting the annuity product market.
Proficiency with annuity technology and systems used to support annuity product sales.
Familiarity with the annuity tech stack, including Firelight, Luma, and Morningstar Annuity Intelligence.
Able to assist and support multiple projects and initiatives concurrently.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong customer-facing communication skills.
Self-direction and self-motivation are crucial to achieving strong results at IFG. The office is a professional work environment. The role requires effective communication and collaboration with other departments, including Wealth Management, Retirement/Practice Management, Supervision & Compliance, Marketing, Senior Management, and Transitions. Time management is essential to meet deadlines for publications and conference programming. Workload varies by our client/advisor demands and proactive efforts to expand sales.
