About the job

Young Harris College is accepting applications for a full-time faculty position in mathematics to begin in August 2025. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about teaching a broad range of undergraduate courses in mathematics (four per semester) and will supply evidence of teaching excellence. Other responsibilities include academic advising, service to the department, and service to the college in support of its mission to educate, inspire, and empower its students in the context of a liberal arts curriculum. Opportunities include course development, participation in the college honors program, and undergraduate research mentorship. A Ph.D. in mathematics or applied mathematics is required for appointment to the tenure track; an applicant with a master’s degree and teaching experience may be considered for a fixed-term instructor appointment. All areas of specialization will be considered; however, the department would especially value candidates who possess expertise in statistics and/or experience teaching elementary statistics. The college would also value candidates who are qualified to teach a two-semester sequence in university physics. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Required application documents: letter of application & curriculum vitae. Applicants who would enrich the diversity of the campus community are strongly encouraged to apply.
