Job Description:

The University of Toledo Judith Herb College of Education is seeking to hire an assistant lecturer of special education with teaching strengths in special education instruction for preservice and continuing teachers and experience supporting students with exceptionalities in PK-12 settings.

The successful candidate will teach courses in special education, advise graduate students, participate in course assessment and revision, and maintain currency in the area special education and teacher preparation. The candidate will be encouraged to establish and maintain connections with local schools.

Required application materials include a cover letter, Curriculum Vita, and contact information for three references.

Review of applications will begin in March 2025 and will continue until the position is filled. Start date is August 2025.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required qualifications include: a doctoral degree in teacher education, curriculum and instruction or related field with a focus on special education, three years of experience in supporting special needs students in PK-12 settings, and the ability to communicate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in pre-service teacher education, and online platforms is preferred.
