About Elion
Technology—especially AI—is reshaping healthcare. Elion gives health-system leaders the clarity to adopt that technology with confidence. Backed by NEA, Max Ventures, and AlleyCorp, we pair rigorous research with a healthcare-specific marketplace that maps thousands of vendors, products, and categories. Our goal: accelerate the next decade of clinical and operational innovation.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a builder who can translate the latest large‑language‑model (LLM) capabilities into end‑to‑end, production‑grade agentic products. You’ll own everything from rapid prototypes to hardened services: designing autonomous agents that collect, structure, and enrich multimodal data, integrating them with our data pipelines, and exposing them through APIs and user‑facing interfaces. If you love hacking on ambiguous problems and seeing your code create real impact in days, you’ll thrive here.
What You'll Do
- Prototype & Ship End‑to‑End Products – Take agent concepts from whiteboard to user‑facing features, owning backend services, data pipelines, and front‑end components.
- Engineer LLM‑powered data workflows – Invent agents and retrieval pipelines that transform unstructured signals into searchable intelligence.
- Unlock expert knowledge with conversation – Build systems that capture and synthesize human insights—text, audio, or otherwise.
- Automate content generation and enrichment – Produce concise, trustworthy narratives and comparisons that feel native to Elion’s voice.
- Ensure quality at scale – Instrument outputs, surface uncertainties, and close the loop with human feedback.
- Operate in production – Package your code into monitored, deploy‑ready services that integrate cleanly with our data platform and applications.
- Elevate the team – Work cross‑functionally, share learnings, and continually raise the bar for AI engineering at Elion.
Ideal Background
- 5+ years building production software with a strong product mindset—you’ve shipped 0-to-1 features and owned them end to end.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and TypeScript, including frameworks/libraries such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Next.js/React, and Node/Express.
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, embeddings/vector stores, retrieval-augmented generation, tool-calling, evaluation, and agent orchestration.
- Ability to measure and mitigate model issues—hallucinations, drift, cost.
- Startup bias-for-action: prototype in hours, iterate in days, productionize in weeks.
