About the job

Who we are

Tomo is a digital mortgage company on a mission to eliminate the greed and complexity in lending, helping homebuyers save thousands of dollars. Our AI-driven customer experience makes the lending process faster, less frustrating, and more affordable. By passing these savings directly to homebuyers, we eliminate excessive fees and inflated rates that cost Americans billions each year. Backed by top-tier venture investors, including Ribbit, DST, and NFX, Tomo is poised to become one of the most valuable fintech startups of our generation.

We are intentional about who joins our rapidly growing team—we seek ambitious, team-oriented, and driven individuals who embrace the effort required to win. At Tomo, we seek teammates who have a pattern of success in their lives—whether demonstrated through work, academics, athletics, or personal endeavors. Tomowners lean into the company culture, are energized by our mission, and want to have fun at work.

The elevator pitch…

This is a rare opportunity for mentorship and training by a visionary capital markets executive who has shaped a generation of housing finance innovation and talent (that's our words - not his). The Tomo Capital Markets analyst will support and eventually drive decisions in pricing, loan product creation, and investor relations with correspondent banks.

This role will work out of our New York City office Monday-Wednesday and is remote optional Thursday & Friday.

The things you’ll be doing…

  • Manage our loan lock workflows to ensure sales and customer requests are fulfilled accurately and in a timely manner
  • “Watch the money” by ensuring that loans meet our revenue requirements and investors price our loans properly
  • Assist Capital Markets management in a range of quantitative projects
  • Train to become a junior trader in 6-12 months

The things you’re exceptional at…

  • Strong quantitative skills - you will be building and running models and analysis throughout the day.
  • Fluency in Excel
  • The ability to see risks around corners. Some call it awareness, some call it a healthy sense of paranoia. Your actions have direct financial implications. You have a strong commercial sense.
  • Innate curiosity. Ask questions and absorb information around you.
  • Willingness to take on new projects. Need to learn Python to crunch a big data set, get after it!
  • A quality mindset - millions of dollars flow through your keyboard every day.
  • 0-2 years of experience

You may also have the extras…

  • Experience with database languages (SQL dialects) or Python
  • Finance or Economics degree

What’s in It for You?...

  • Career growth: Multiple paths within Tomo.
  • Competitive compensation: $60,000-$80,0000.
  • Equity ownership: All teammates receive stock options.
  • Coaching and mentorship: Build a foundation for a career on the street.
  • Working at a company with a strong culture which can see and hear you.

Closing…

There's no such thing as a perfect candidate, and we don’t expect you to meet 100% of the above criteria. Ultimately, we're looking for a creative optimist with grit and determination, who is excited to face the challenges of a growing startup that’s shaking up an industry. We'd love to talk to you about how and why you can see yourself growing into this role, and we are especially open to candidates with non-traditional backgrounds and experience. Let’s connect!

The expected annual compensation for this position will be between
$60,000$80,000 USD
