Senior Social Worker in Adult Safeguarding, Chelmsford, Full-time, £237 Daily
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join Essex County Council’s Safeguarding Triage team service on an ongoing contract. We are looking for Senior Social Workers to join ECC’s Safeguarding Triage team service. Your focus will be on triaging and managing all new safeguarding concerns referred into Adult Social Care. This is a new innovative approach for Essex County Council, and the successful applicant will be part of a team that will shape how we ensure safeguarding is made personal when applying Care Act thresholds. The role and function of this team is to support effective decision-making to ensure section 42 enquiries are progressed appropriately. There will be strong links with all quadrants as section 42 enquiries will remain their responsibility, so there is an opportunity to build strong networks in all areas.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant frontline experience in Social Services within the UK working as a qualified Social Worker
What you will do:
- Triage and manage new safeguarding concerns within Adult Social Care, guiding decisions to ensure cases are handled promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with team members across various quadrants to maximise the impact of safeguarding measures.
- Apply innovative approaches to adapt and refine the safeguarding processes as part of an evolving team effort.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all safeguarding activities, documenting progress and outcomes.
- Engage with service users and other stakeholders with an empathetic and informed approach, making safeguarding personal.
