A Backend Developer is responsible for building and maintaining the server-side logic of web applications. The role focuses on creating robust, scalable, and efficient solutions to power the application’s functionality, ensuring seamless integration with frontend systems and databases.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain server-side logic, APIs, and services to support web and mobile applications.
- Optimize backend performance to ensure fast and reliable data delivery.
- Design and implement secure, scalable database structures and integrations.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing components with server-side logic.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve backend issues effectively.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
- Implement security and data protection measures to safeguard user and company data.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, or PHP.
- Strong understanding of API development (RESTful, GraphQL) and integrations.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of software architecture principles and microservices architecture.
- Experience with backend frameworks such as Express.js, Django, Flask, Spring Boot, or similar.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to optimize performance for large-scale systems.
