Senior Full-Stack AI & Cloudflare Engineer
A UK-based AI product agency is building custom client portals and web applications with embedded AI agents.
The team is launching an upcoming wellness center project involving a responsive mobile-rendered web application, a planner/journal app, WhatsApp API automated check-ins, and an AI layer powered by Cloudflare AI Gateway.
This is a senior engineering role for someone who understands core software engineering fundamentals, database schemas, API architecture, and can take ownership of production-ready delivery.
Technology context: Python, TypeScript, Cloudflare Workers, Cloudflare AI Gateway, PostgreSQL / PlanetScale, WhatsApp API.
Engagement: Full-time B2B contract.
Working hours: UK time zone overlap — GMT/BST.
Target start: In 1–2 months.
Recruiting location: Worldwide / no country restriction.
Preferred location: Eastern Europe, Balkans, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, LATAM, etc.
Key responsibilities
- Design and build responsive web applications and client portals from scratch.
- Ensure clear front-end and back-end segregation across application architecture.
- Develop robust backend services, RESTful APIs, and database schemas using Python and Cloudflare Workers.
- Implement automated workflows, Cloudflare Schedulers, and WhatsApp integrations for automated user check-ins and notifications.
- Embed AI agents and AI layer functionality using Cloudflare AI Gateway and LLM APIs.
- Translate business requirements into simple, scalable technical solutions.
- Take complete technical ownership of project delivery, architecture, and production readiness.
Skills & Qualifications
- Senior-level hands-on experience with Python and TypeScript.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including database design, schema optimization, and API architecture.
- Experience building scalable backend APIs and deploying microservices.
- Practical experience with PostgreSQL or PlanetScale databases.
- Familiarity with Cloudflare infrastructure, including Workers, Schedulers, AI Gateway, or similar serverless edge environments.
- Experience developing or integrating AI models, AI agents, and LLM APIs into web platforms.
- Experience with third-party messaging protocols or WhatsApp API integrations.
- Ability to make sound architectural decisions, manage state properly, and write clean production-ready code.
- Good English communication skills and ability to collaborate remotely with leadership and technical stakeholders.
- Availability for UK time zone overlap.
