Position Overview: The Akian College of Science and Engineeringâs BS in Environmental and Sustainability Sciences (https://cse.aua.am/ess/) invites applications for a visiting faculty position, starting in July 2026. The visiting faculty members at AUA are expected to teach one or two courses per semester, and pursue an active research agenda during the visit. We seek a visiting faculty who will contribute to our vibrant academic community through teaching, innovative research, and student mentoring. This position is ideal for scholars on sabbatical leave, Fulbright scholars, or others seeking a visiting appointment for one semester, a year, or longer.

Responsibilities:
Teach courses in the bachelorâs program in BS in Environmental and Sustainability Sciences, such as AI and biodiversity, digital twinning of natural and urban environments.
Contribute to curricular and programmatic developments,
Engage in research in the fields of AI and environmental and sustainability sciences,
Publish findings in high impact journals,
Mentor students in their academic and research pursuits, including capstone and thesis supervision and independent studies,
Participate in program, college, and university service activities,
Perform other duties assigned by the Dean,
Qualifications:
Requirements for this position include:
PhD degree in information systems, biodiversity, ecosystems or a related field.
Hold a professorship at a U.S. or European university,
Documented experience in student supervision, including thesis/capstone projects,
Track record of successful grant applications and funding from Horizon Europe, or the US National Science Foundation (NSF),
Compensation: Compensation is commensurate with the university-wide pay scale and will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
