What You’ll Do:

  • Set the technical vision and strategy for how we build consumer products at Affirm
  • Instill a culture of engineering excellence and high availability across all of your teams
  • Champion the shift to an AI-first engineering approach - accelerating the adoption of GenAI across consumer product experiences and in the software development lifecycle
  • Support and partner with the broader engineering organization to improve our consumer experiences.
  • Set a high standard for operational rigor on the team
  • Understand the product and business goals and vigorously participate in our engineering-wide roadmap planning process
  • Lead, grow, hire and inspire a high-performing engineering organization

What We Look For:

  • Has had primary responsibility for the development and operational management of an app with tens of millions of users
  • Extensive experience developing amazing consumer experiences with AI/ML.
  • Successful track record leading and delivering multi-year, highly complex engineering strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully develop, hire and partner with principal software engineers.
  • Strong leader of leaders who has successfully developed hired and partnered with senior individual contributors, managers and directors.
  • Detail oriented individual who has strong opinions on the technologies being developed by their team and is fully immersed in day to day execution and delivery.
  • Strong communicator who effectively lays out their vision for their team, the broader engineering organization, senior executive and partners.

Base Pay Grade - X

Equity Grade - 24

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)

CAN base pay range per year: $297,000 - $327,000
