Ares Infrastructure Opportunities ("AIO") is hiring a Vice President to join its Investment Team in New York, NY.
AIO is an equity-oriented infrastructure group that employs both value-add and core strategies to invest in assets and companies within the infrastructure asset class. Target sectors include renewable energy, energy storage, natural gas, transportation, resource efficiency, low carbon molecules, infrastructure services, and digital infrastructure. We leverage our technical and financial skill set, industry relationships, and the Ares platform to source proprietary deal flow, structure downside protection, and seek attractive risk-adjusted returns for our investors.
We manage $7.4bn across our two strategies and three main funds. AIO draws upon a broadly-skilled and cohesive team of approximately 30 investment professionals with deep sector expertise and strong industry relationships.
Primary Functions and Essential Responsibilities:
The candidate will work as an integral part of the Investment Team in New York, which is responsible for originating, structuring and executing new investments. Responsibilities will include financial modeling, due diligence, and execution support as part of lean investment teams, as well as the management of new and existing investments.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

- Interfacing with portfolio company management teams, third party diligence providers, legal counsel, and other external partners
- Evaluating new investment opportunities and leading preparation of internal evaluation materials
- Leading due diligence processes, deal structuring and process execution
- Overseeing preparation and maintenance of financial models and other quantitative analysis
- Monitoring and reporting on operational and financial performance of portfolio investments
- Identification and implementation of strategies to optimize value of investments
- Management and mentorship of junior team members
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or international equivalent, along with relevant work experience
- Candidates with 6+ years of experience in private equity, project finance, investment banking, development, and/or the power/energy/infrastructure sectors will be given priority.
- The candidate should possess strong finance and analytical abilities as well as strong financial modeling capabilities (in Excel) and excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Industry knowledge and experience is strongly preferred.
