Strategic Staffing Solutions is currently looking for a Test lead for a W2 contract opportunity with one of our largest clients!

 
Title: Test Lead
Location: Minneapolis Minnesota/Denver, CO
Duration: 12 Months
Schedule: Hybrid. Preference for Denver or Minneapolis. (If local, expected to be onsite 3 days/week per the company policy.)
Standard hours:
  - Core hours: 7–9 AM to 3–4 PM.
  - Flexible; fully remote possible.
  - Overtime may be required during workshops, go-lives, or in support of other special circumstances.
Travel Requirements:
  - 1–2 times per year for workshops.
  - Expenses reimbursed per the company policy; no per diem.

Top 3–5 Required Skills:

  - Strong communication and executive presence.
  - Experience running meetings as the primary facilitator and reporting to leadership.
  - Strong JIRA experience (setup and execution).
  - Waterfall methodology experience.
  - Utility experience preferred.
  - Writing test cases (no automation or scripting).
  - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Ramp-Up Time:
    - Minimum 7–10+ years of experience.
    - Proficient within 3 months; comfortable within 6 months.

Job Description:

Responsible for evaluating and testing software for completeness, quality, correctness and security. Develops test plans and test cases. Develops automated tests. Performs manual and automated tests for software functionality, installation, and usability. Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts. Manages bugs and error tracking. Documents and presents test results to management. Coordinates and prioritizes testing of application modifications and bug fixes. Works with multiple development teams and software projects. Experience with a test tracking software package is desired.

    - Support for one primary project: ADERMS Aggregator Virtual Power Plant (AVPP).
    - Lead testing efforts including writing and executing SIT and UAT test cases.
      - Manage testers, maintain JIRA space, and report testing status to PMs and leadership.

    - Execute and manage test cases.
    - Run daily or twice-daily testing meetings.
      - Interface with PMs, BAs, architects, and vendors.
      - Maintain dashboards and contribute to project team activities.
  • Team Size and Key Collaborators:
    - Test Lead, PM, BA, project architect, SMEs, and other testing resources.
  • Customer Type:
    - Internal stakeholders and external software vendors.
  • Work Environment / Team Culture:
    - Collaborative, fast-paced, and resource-constrained.
