Description: The Overlake School, an independent, non-profit, NWAIS accredited 5th-12th grade school, seeks a full time Technology Support Specialist. The Technology Support Specialist is responsible for working with students, faculty and staff to support the technical aspects and systems that compose the technology initiatives of the school. In all of this work, the goal is to build professional relationships with community members, to ensure that the school’s end user experience, as well as its overall IT infrastructure, are capable of fulfilling the mission and goals of the Overlake School. In addition to individualized technology end-user support, this position will also be involved with planning and delivering technology-driven professional development to larger groups, cadres or teams of faculty and administrative staff throughout the year, including summer sessions. The specialist works very closely and directly with other members of the technology department in order to provide a seamless and integrated technology experience. Duties & Responsibilities: * Provide end-user technical support throughout the organization. * Manage and utilize help desk systems and work flows to document and track customer service. * Manage and participate in the deployment, maintenance and reclamation of end-user devices and peripherals. * Attend and participate in technology department and community meetings. * Collaborate, brainstorm and share best practices within the department and community. * Engage in regular professional development that supports school, department and personal goals. * Maintain up-to-date inventory information on all hardware as well as licensing information on software and subscriptions. * Provide network support and maintenance in consultation with colleagues. * Provide software and hardware support for A/V and campus telephone systems. * Refer major hardware or software problems to outside vendors for assistance and service. * Provide backup support to departmental staff as required. * Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Strong “can-do” customer service attitude. * Proven communication and interpersonal skills. * Exemplary attention to detail and organizational skills. * Ability to work independently and in teams. * Knowledge of trends in technology, educational technology and customer service. * Ability to engage and support students, faculty and staff in meaningful ways. * Ability to take initiative to define and pursue one’s own professional development. * Solid understanding and capable troubleshooting of all modern desktop and mobile operating systems, in addition to experience with Mobile Device Management solutions which manage them. * Experience with hardware repair, software/patch deployment, image building, and imaging. Windows and Apple certifications preferred. * Ability to work under time pressures while maintaining a great customer service attitude. * Ability to triage problems under high-stress situations.
