Job Description
- Oversee the complete bookkeeping process for UK-based clients, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and client-specific SOPs, including reviewing and verifying accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries and reconciliations.
- Review VAT returns and ensure compliance with UK tax regulations, including necessary adjustments or updates.
- Review and ensure the accuracy of financial statements, ensuring they comply with UK accounting standards and regulations (e.g., UK GAAP or FRS 102-1A, FRS 105).
- Review year-end reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, Payroll & VAT reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and other balance sheet accounts, ensuring that all transactions are correctly recorded and any discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
- Review Corporation tax returns (CT600), ensuring all appropriate tax deductions, allowances, and reliefs are considered.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client queries, providing guidance and addressing complex financial concerns.
- Provide regular updates to clients and senior management regarding financial activities and status.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and optimization in bookkeeping operations.
- Ensure timely submission of timesheets and regular updates to workflow systems.
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of MIS reports, providing actionable insights on financial trends and key
performance metrics.
- Set and monitor individual and team KPIs to ensure performance targets are met.
Qualification
- B.com, M.com or Equivalent Qualification .
- 6+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- Knowledge of FRS 102-1A, FRS 105, and UK GAAP will be an added advantage.
- Professional certification (e.g., CA, ACCA) is a plus but not mandatory.
Language Proficiency (If Any):
- Well conversant in verbal and written English communication
Computer Proficiency & specifications:
- Proficiency in UK-based accounting Software (Xero, QuickBooks, Hubdoc, Dext, IRIS, Digita, CCH, and TaxCalc)
