Teacher of ICT & Computer Science
About the job
We are currently seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and dynamic teacher to join our team as a Teacher of ICT & Computer Science. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching Computer Science at Key Stage 3 (KS3) and either ICT or Computer Science qualifications at Key Stage 4 (KS4).
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons in Computer Science at KS3 and ICT/Computer Science qualifications at KS4.
- Foster an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that engages and challenges all students.
- Support students in developing both their technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater for different learning styles.
- Contribute to the development of the department’s curriculum and resources.
- Manage student progress and provide feedback on their academic achievements.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent consultations, and professional development activities.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds a relevant degree in Computer Science, ICT, or a closely related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience of teaching Computer Science and/or ICT at KS3 and KS4 (though newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply).
- Passionate about engaging students in the world of technology, coding, and digital skills.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Desirable but not essential:
- Experience teaching a Computer Science or ICT qualification (e.g. GCSE, BTEC).
- Knowledge of current developments in the field of computing and education.
