ROLE SUMMARY:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrate a growth mindset, setting aspirational goals and plan for learning that inspires, motivates, stretches and challenges, stimulating a love of learning and intellectual curiosity in every student
• Model the positive expectations, values, and behaviours expected of every student
• Differentiate appropriately for all learning, language acquisition and social-emotional needs
• Demonstrate passion for what they teach along with excellent subject and curriculum knowledge that fosters and stretches student interest and progress
• Share responsibility for promoting high standards of literacy and numeracy
• Plan for and teach well designed lessons, such that they have appropriate pace and challenge
• Consistently use varied and appropriate pedagogies to ensure learning is deep and that it triggers higher-order thinking
• Make accurate and productive use of summative assessment data to feed tracking systems, monitor student progress, identify student underperformance and inform planning, interventions and academic reports
• Ensure that marking and feedback is promptly provided to both students and parents and that feedback loops are an ongoing dialogue to embed deep learning

• Treat students with dignity, build relationships rooted in mutual respect for the rights of others and listen to the voice of the student, always observing boundaries with students that are appropriate to a teacher’s professional position
• To meet all of Inspired’s minimum safeguarding training requirements and demonstrate a clear understanding of student welfare and the procedures and policies to safeguard and promote it
• Promote and develop positive relationships with families for the wellbeing of the student
• Maintain the highest personal standards, acting with honesty, integrity, resilience and flexibility
• Forge positive professional relationships with colleagues

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• PGCE, QTS or equivalent with strong academic credentials and the appropriate right to work
• Experience of teaching in an outstanding independent school setting
• GCSE and A-level teaching experience
• A depth of understanding in the relevant subject area
• Ability to judge learning effectiveness
• Excellent preparation and planning
• Genuine care and attention for the highest standards of student welfare
• Demonstratable interest in form-based teaching
• Experience in operating as part of a collaborative form teacher team
• Experience in pastoral care and pupil wellbeing
• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work both collaboratively and independently
• A commitment to professional development
• Enthusiasm, energy and a positive and flexible approach
• Ability to engage and motivate young people
• Ability to manage own workload, to cope well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Interest in working with students inside and outside the classroom to support their learning and personal development
• Readiness to engage whole-heartedly in the extracurricular and wider life of the school
• Recognition of the importance of personal responsibility for health and safety
• Demonstrable commitment to the safeguarding of students and child protection as well as equal opportunities
• A commitment to professional development and a demonstrated record of having kept abreast of recent, relevant educational methodology
