Sustainability Research Specialist
As a Sustainability Research Specialist, you will act as an expert in GHG Protocol Corporate Standard, Product Carbon Footprinting, and relevant ISO standards.
WHAT YOU’LL DO (AND WHY IT MATTERS)
As a highly skilled Sustainability Research Specialist you will act as an expert in GHG Protocol Corporate Standard, Product Carbon Footprinting, and relevant ISO standards. They will possess extensive knowledge in corporate carbon footprinting, particularly in measuring Scope 3 emissions, and have experience developing decarbonisation pathways at the corporate or city/country level. Proficiency in conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and Impact Assessments, along with excellent quantitative analysis skills, is essential. Responsibilities will include:
- Conduct in-depth research and develop industry-specific decarbonisation pathways for enterprises in our ICP with complex supply/value chains.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on corporate emission accounting and decarbonisation.
- Design and execute research projects to support the product and delivery team on emission accounting issues.
- Assist the sustainability advisory team in providing pragmatic solutions to clients, based on rigorous research methodologies.
- Enhance the sustainability team’s cross-functional support at CO2 AI.
WHAT YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
- Recently completed or about to complete PhD from a well reputed university/Research Institute and looking for a first job
- In-depth understanding of GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and relevant ISO standards.
- Extensive knowledge of corporate carbon footprinting and Scope 3 emissions.
- Experience in developing decarbonisation pathways.
- Strong foundational knowledge in LCAs and Impact Assessments.
- Excellent quantitative analysis skills.
- Fluent in English
- Knowledge or expertise in chemicals a plus

Role based in central Paris (France). Flexible remote-work policy.
