About the job
Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Summer Seasonal Laborer for the summer of 2026. As a Seasonal Laborer you will work with our Heavy Equipment crew to perform flagging operations to direct traffic through construction zones using handheld signs in addition to barricades and cones to keep motorists, pedestrians and our crews safe. You will also assist with road construction, brushing and trimming and other preventative maintenance activities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Possess a valid Michigan Driver's License.
- Excellent attendance, dependable transportation and a good work ethic.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and remain attentive to traffic conditions and other factors affecting safety and production.
- Physical ability to work in extreme weather conditions and cope with temperature and other environmental extremes in a moving highway work zone.
- Availability to work WCRC summer hours Monday - Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
