Position Overview


The Structural Engineer will be responsible for delivering comprehensive structural design and consulting services for new construction and renovation projects. This position involves direct collaboration with architects, contractors, and building owners to develop safe, efficient, and code-compliant structural systems using steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and cold-formed steel. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with strong analytical and communication skills, capable of managing multiple projects and maintaining high technical standards.


Key Responsibilities


• Perform structural analysis and design for building projects using structural steel, reinforced concrete, timber, masonry, and cold-formed steel systems.

• Develop design drawings, specifications, and calculations in compliance with applicable codes and standards.

• Design and review steel connections, foundations, and cold-formed steel framing systems.

• Conduct field inspections and assessments of new and existing structures, preparing detailed engineering reports and recommendations.

• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and other professionals to achieve design goals, budgets, and schedules.

• Apply building and design codes including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, NDS, and TMS.

• Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD, Bentley RAM Elements, RAM Connection, SteelSmart, and Meca Wind for design and documentation.


Qualifications


• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).

• Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Georgia or the ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of hire.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design and consulting.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD LT, Bentley RAM software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Demonstrated experience with cold-formed steel and steel connection design.

• Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
