The impact

As a Staff Software Engineer at Method, you will be a key technical contributor while also helping shape our engineering culture and driving technical excellence. This is a hands-on role, but a portion of your time will be committed to mentoring and guiding the engineering team. You will collaborate closely with the executive leadership team and cross-functional partners in Customer Success, Product, and GTM to influence strategic technical decisions while remaining deeply involved in implementation.

What you'll do

  • Serve as a primary technical contributor while providing guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers, helping them develop their skills and grow professionally.

  • Balance your hands-on development work with helping to coordinate resource allocation across projects, ensuring efficient utilization of our engineering talent.

  • Architect and implement technical solutions to enhance our infrastructure, processes, and overall architecture, leading by example with your own code.

  • Drive execution speed by actively participating in and optimizing workflows, identifying and removing bottlenecks, and implementing engineering best practices.

  • Work cross-functionally with other teams to help define and execute on the product roadmap, bridging the gap between technical capabilities and business objectives.

  • Participate in technical interviews and help onboard new engineers to maintain a high-performing engineering team.

Who you are

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with some experience in technical leadership or mentoring roles.

  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in full-stack development, preferably with JavaScript, React, Node.js, and NoSQL databases.

  • Experience in a growth stage start-up, ideally in the Series A - D size

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Passion for staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, particularly in the FinTech space.

Extra awesome

  • Experience in Finance / FinTech industries.

  • Knowledge of payment systems and financial regulations.

The annual US base salary range for this role is: $215,000-$250,000.
