Role Summary

In this role you will be a member of the Perception Team at Rivian, which develops advanced machine learning algorithms that directly impact safety critical self-driving and safety related features of our category defining vehicles. You will be responsible for design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance of onboard cabin-monitoring functionality.


Responsibilities

  • Be independently responsible for the entire lifecycle of projects or features including engineering design, development, testing and maintenance
  • Develop tools and processes to evaluate and measure the performance of the cabin monitoring system
  • Develop production ready software to run on our vehicles and in the cloud
  • Develop perception capabilities using tools from Machine Learning
  • Work with the broader team to ensure that our Perception outputs are integrated to deliver a great experience to our customers

Qualifications

  • BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or other relevant Engineering disciplines
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in model training developing deep learning models in AV (Autonomous Vehicle), or other real-time safety-critical experience
  • Proficiency in python and related framework
  • Effective communication and collaborative skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience leveraging cloud and/or cluster base training
  • Prior experience in cabin monitoring or experiences in action recognition, gaze estimation, facial features and facial expression analysis
  • Experience with C++ / code review / software stack

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $179,000 - $285,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
