Overview of Job/Team:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our growing team at a dynamic SaaS company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing key accounting processes related to billing, expense tracking, revenue operations, and cross-functional coordination with HR and Legal. This position is instrumental in supporting timely and accurate financial reporting, ensuring data integrity across platforms like NetSuite, Salesforce, Bill.com, and Expensify.
What You'll Do:
- Banking & Transactions
- Import and match bank transactions, add relevant classifications in the accounting system.
- Reconcile feeds and maintain accurate bank records.
- Assist in internation payments
- Accounts Payable & Expense Management
- Enter and route bills for approval through Bill.com.
- Process and review employee expense reports using Expensify.
- Revenue & Contract Operations
- Save and archive executed vendor contracts in an organized repository.
- Review contracts and purchase orders to assure revenue recognition accuracy.
- Invoice sales orders and validate against contract terms.
- Accruals & Estimations
- Collaborate with Legal to estimate and accrue legal fees in financials.
- Liaise with HR to estimate and accrue finder’s fees monthly.
- Accrue other necessary period-end items in coordination with relevant departments.
- Accounting System Reconciliations
- Contribute to month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities
- Assist with annual audit of financial statements.
- Other Ad hoc projects and duties as identified
Requirements:
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS or technology company.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP).
- Familiarity with accounting and ERP systems, especially NetSuite, Salesforce, Bill.com, and Expensify.
- Skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficient in Excel and financial reporting tools.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606).
- Exposure to multi-entity or international accounting structures.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification.
