Position Overview

We are seeking a forward-thinking Wireless Engineer who is passionate about challenging the status quo and driving innovation in enterprise wireless infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is eager to shape the future of connectivity, security, and location intelligence.  Must be located either in Kansas City, MO or the St. Louis metro area.  

 

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience with Cisco Wireless technologies, including WLCs and Access Points.

- Hands-on expertise with Cisco ISE, network segmentation, Cisco Spaces, and Real-Time Location Services (RTLS).

- Strong understanding of wireless protocols, RF design, and site surveys.

- Ability to challenge existing processes and recommend forward-thinking improvements.

- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

 

Preferred Attributes

- A mindset geared toward continuous improvement and innovation.

- Experience in large-scale enterprise environments.

- Familiarity with automation and scripting for network tasks.

- Knowledge of location-based analytics and user engagement strategies.

- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP Wireless, CWNA, Cisco Certified Specialist – Enterprise Wireless Design) are a plus.

Role Purpose

The Infrastructure Solutions Engineer (ISE) is primarily responsible for the design and deployment of technical configuration Items from the approved technology portfolio to support larger and more complex business solutions. The Sr. ISE plays a broader role in managing Technical Debt through proactive identification of risks and threats of legacy platforms and providing proposals for remediations

 

Responsibilities

  • Designs large or complex systems and undertakes impact analysis on major design options and trade-offs. Takes technical responsibility across all stages and iterations of configuration development and deployment.
  • Adopts and adapts system design methods, tools and techniques. Contributes to development of system design policies, standards and selection of architecture components.
  • Produces, or approves network providers', network architectures, topologies and configuration databases for own area of responsibility.
  • Specifies design parameters for network connectivity, capacity, speed, interfacing, security and access, in line with business requirements.
  • Collaborates with those responsible for ongoing systems and software life cycle management to select, adopt and adapt working practices.
