Education/Experience Requirements:
- BSc engineering Mechanical
- 6+ years engineering experience (min 2-3 nuclear)
Additional Skill Requirements:
- Customer Service and Consulting experience
- Experience working on large scale engineering projects
- Familiarity with Nuclear and Engineering processes, codes and standards (i.e. ASME B31.1, ASME BPVC, CSA N285, CSA B51, CSA N299, etc.)
- Piping design and analysis experience, i.e. fluid dynamics, Stress analysis, Flow analysis, component specification and selection.
Scope of Work
- This dynamic position will allow you to help mentor and grow our mechanical engineering team to new heights while helping to grow our business in the Pickering office.
- Ensure the high performance of the engineering team through providing high quality design solutions for Nuclear Power facilities
- Promote development of innovative design solutions for our clients.
- Liaise with clients to ensure solutions identified meet underlying needs.
- Supervise and mentor part of the Pickering Mechanical Engineering Design Team in solving unique problems that support production of clean safe reliable power in Ontario
- Provide knowledge and oversight for engineering deliverables to support plant lifetime operations including design, construction, testing, commissioning, plant operations, maintenance and decommissioning
- Provide resolution of technical issues during design, installation and commissioning phases of projects.
- Resource management, work assignment, and support for proposals and estimating
- Track and support team performance on schedule and cost metrics
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team
- Core Engineering focus areas:
- Consulting engineering solutions
- Process Piping Design, including Valves, Pumps, and Heat Exchangers
- Fluid Dynamics, including steady state and dynamic flow analyses
- Machine Design, Solid Mechanics, and Failure Theory, including piping stress analysis and FEA
- Familiarity with/Knowledge of OPG’s systems, processes, and procedures
