PURPOSE OF JOB: The Software engineer will primarily work on end-to-end software development for one of our diagnostic tests. This software controls blood serum sampling robots, CCD based reader, and analyzes the resulting data to provide final results for the test. This position will also be in charge of supporting software such as a website, database, reporting scripts, and middleware software. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, implementation, testing and maintenance of application software, GUI’s, and low level code Supporting our production labs by troubleshooting of hardware/software systems in production REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function. Must have strong and up-to-date skills in C# Experience with a .NET environment GUI development experience desired, experience with WPF a plus Experience with network/TCP programming a plus, especially WCF Experience with hardware control systems and I/O desired Proficiency in python Prior work with pandas, numpy, and SQLAlchemy a plus Experience with Django a plus Must have Experience with SQL and MySQL Image processing experience a plus Experience working with or on open source or 3rd party software components a plus Experience improving and iterating on an existing software project a plus. Ability and inclination to create well-engineered software including: developing from UML, full commenting, robust implementation, error handling, code inspections, documentation, etc. High self-motivation with proven abilities for both independent work and teamwork. Candidates must have the initiative and drive to produce quality results with minimal oversight.
