What you will do:
Responsible for working with Precisely & IBM Clients, manage & resolve escalated issues relating to the Business to Business Integrator product suite and its associated product lines (B2BI, Global Mailbox, PEM, Sterling File Gateway). Primary activities include diagnosing, troubleshooting, and providing solutions, whether they be procedural, or product code changes. Will have various opportunities to develop new code, product enhancements/features.
The engineer will require strong problem solving skills, Communication skills, and possible travel.
YOUR ROLE AT PRECISELY:
Seeking a skilled Developer with troubleshooting, communication & resolution building skills. Individual needs to be good at multi-tasking, flexible w/changing priorities & able to deliver on commitment dates. Working at a sometimes high/stressful pace, but always maintaining calmness and clarity.
YOUR ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Defines, analyzes, and resolves customer escalations in a timely & accurate manner.
- Provides periodic updates to customers, co-workers & management on the status of outstanding issues.
- Documents complex issue resolutions for both the customer & internal reference as needed.
- Assists team members with complex issues to gain experience & exposure to more advanced problems
- Contributes, reviews & maintain knowledge base content and product documentation as needed
- Will require periodic after hour / weekend coverage, done on a Pager rotational basis.
- Other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Provide how many years of experience is required for this role – 1-4 yrs
- Equivalent experience will be accepted in place of the education requirement.
- Excellent communication (oral & written), analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- OS experience in one or more areas of Linux, UNIX, and/or Windows.
- Cloud experience in one or more areas of AWS, Azure, Google, IBM, RedHat.
- Database experience in one or more areas of Oracle and/or DB2 and/or MS SQL and/or MySQL
- Ability to read and code through an Object Oriented Language, preferred Java.
- Experience with JDBC, JDK, JVM stack traces.
- Knowledge in one or more areas of HTTP/HTTPs, FTP/SFTP, OFTP, REST/APIs
