Qualifications : Essential skills & experience Modern engineering practice: Proficiency in building and maintaining software in a build-run team context using two or more modern programming languages. Experience with data modelling, design patterns, and uplifting team engineering culture. Cloud & distributed computing: Proficiency in design considerations and failure scenarios for distributed computing. Experience with microservice architectures that mix synchronous (HTTP server) and asynchronous (background worker) components in a cloud environment. AWS technologies: Experience in a business-critical environment using AWS services, including DynamoDB, ECS (Fargate), Lambda, RDS (Aurora PostgreSQL), SNS, and SQS. CI/CD & observability: Demonstrated ability to apply and improve continuous integration & continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices. Experience with logging, monitoring, and alerting to uphold software reliability and performance. Technical leadership: Experience leading the end-to-end delivery of technical initiatives, empowering other engineers by balancing support and autonomy, and providing a long-term view of the technical direction of software systems.
