Learn more at www.synopsys.com. Summary / Role Purpose The Senior R&D Engineer – Integration will collaborate with others to produce, extend, and maintain our next generation cloud simulation. In this role, the Senior R&D Engineer will use advanced technical and problem-solving skills to blend QA and DevOps-centric automation with cloud microservices software development. Working across QA and Development teams, the engineer will apply industry best practices to satisfy customer requirements, comply with company process standards, and accomplish development objectives. This role can be done 100% remotely from any location within Canada. Key Duties and Responsibilities Participates in planning, architecture, and research Performs complex development activities that may require extensive analysis in areas including cloud software/service deployment and distributed system maintenance/scaling Employs best practices and helps to maintain them through technical reviews and mentoring Investigates problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions Uses modern cloud automation best practices and tooling Works independently with minimal supervision and may take on some planning and mentoring responsibilities May be responsible for managing interns or co-ops but typically does not have direct reports Root cause investigation, automated deployment testing, production incident solving Participates with on call rotation as alerts arise Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years’ experience, MS with 3 years’ experience, or PhD with 1 year experience Commercial experience with software design and development methodologies CICD development experiences: *nix development environments Container image definition and deployments Python and/or Bash scripting at least 1 CICD tool's pipeline definition as code at least 1 Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling ecosystem Preferred Qualifications and Skills Good communication and interpersonal skills Excellent technical knowledge, particularly in platform engineering Commercial experience with Java, Python and/or Go. Experience with web development, aspect oriented programming, software configuration management, scripting languages, data structures and algorithms Experience with github actions or other YAML-defined CICD tools Experience with frameworks like Springboot or Fast Api Experience with testing frameworks/packages like Junit, Mockito, pyfixtures, or locust Understanding of what is under the hood of most modern frameworks (including websockets) Experience with one or more industry standard Cloud Service Providers, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Experience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment Experience with Kubernetes and commercial public cloud services deployments Understanding of customer requirements and tools used in this domain Ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed team Rewards and Benefits: We offer a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits to cater to your needs.
