About the job
• Provide senior-level leadership to ensure achievement of performance and financial goals across assigned programs.
• Ensure timely and adequate staffing for all programs, including professional development of assigned personnel.
• Conduct individual performance assessments and succession planning.
• Maintain close contact with customers to make necessary and timely program adjustments.
• Collaborate with all functional departments to ensure customer satisfaction, compliance with corporate policies and standards, and adherence to high ethical standards.
• Develop and guide initiatives that enhance customer value and create clear differentiators from competitors.
• Lead teams and programs while identifying and developing new business opportunities within DoD, aligned with assigned growth targets.
• Ensure thorough preparation and submission of winning proposals for re-compete efforts.
• Support and advise on growth strategy initiatives within HII, with a focus on DoD and USG clientele.
• Identify potential customers, assess their requirements, and tailor strategies to address their needs and challenges.
• Provide insights to support informed decision-making during pursuits, including competitive assessments and pricing-to-win strategies.
• Collaborate with teaming partners and suppliers to strengthen bid team effectiveness and competitiveness.
• Partner with senior leadership to share insights on market trends, competitive intelligence, and strategic opportunities.
• Communicate regular progress updates, status reports, and risk assessments to senior management.
• Personally model HII’s core values: integrity, safety, honesty, engagement, responsibility, and performance.
• Actively promote HII program excellence initiatives within assigned programs.
• Provide rigorous financial and performance oversight for all supporting subcontractors.
Requirements
- 8 years of relevant progressive experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 6 years with a Master's degree; or 12 years with a High School Diploma or equivalent
- 8 years of relevant progressive experience leading programs or projects
- Strong understanding of the federal contracting and acquisition process
- Exceptional strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate market and customer insights into winning strategies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of the organization and with external partners
- Experience participating in proposal development and solutioning sessions
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple initiatives concurrently
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Experience in training system development and fielding.
- Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance. Prior government, active-duty, or equivalent senior acquisition leadership experience; O6/GS-15 equivalent preferred.
- DoD Acquisition Certification: DAWIA Level III in Program Management.
- PMP Certification.
