About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Game Designer to play a key part in designing new gameplay and features for our game, Welcome to Bloxburg, an award winning and top performing game on the Roblox platform where players can build and design their very own dream house, work various virtual jobs, hang out with friends, explore the city of Bloxburg, and more!
As a Senior Game Designer, you will be a key contributor in shaping the core gameplay mechanics and systems to create a fun and exciting experience for our players. You will collaborate closely with other team members to bring new ideas to life.
This role is intended as an on-site position with some work-from-home flexibility.
Responsibilities:
● Design and iterate on gameplay systems that are fun, balanced, and engaging
● Analyze and revise existing gameplay systems
● Create clear and comprehensive design documentation to guide development and ensure that they are followed throughout the production process
● Conduct playtests, gather feedback, and refine designs based on insights and user data
● Collaborate with team members to prototype and implement feature designs
● Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in the genre and platform
You Have:
● 5+ years of experience in a Game Design or similar role
● A strong portfolio showcasing shipped titles and relevant design experience
● Strong problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of game mechanics, pacing, and balancing
● Ability to think creatively and push the boundaries of what’s possible in gameplay design
● Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team
● Passion for video games and a deep understanding of gaming culture, genres, and trends, with a genuine love for creating player-focused experiences
We consider it a plus if you have
● Experience working within the Roblox platform
● Knowledge of Welcome to Bloxburg
● Experience working with games that include any of the following: Free-to-play, live service, social based, multiplayer, life simulation
● Experience with designing for multiple platforms, including mobile, PC, and console
● Programming skills for design prototyping
