About the job

We’re looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our FUN-ance Team (yes, that’s what we call ourselves!). This role is perfect for someone who loves a mix of day-to-day accounting operations and forward-looking financial strategy. You’ll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, driving insights, and supporting Coconut’s continued growth as a high-performing Canadian B2B SaaS company.

While we welcome applications from across Canada, we are headquartered in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and would be especially excited to hear from Saskatoon-based candidates. That said, we’re committed to hiring the best person for the role, and qualified candidates from anywhere in Canada are strongly encouraged to apply.

YOU’RE FIRED UP TO

  • Support the preparation and review of monthly financial statements in accordance with ASPE.
  • Perform reconciliations, journal entries, and ensure accurate SaaS revenue recognition under ASPE.
  • Assist with annual audit, tax filings, and external reporting requirements.
  • Maintain accuracy of general ledger accounts and uphold internal controls.
  • Support monthly close and reporting cycles, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and manage KPI dashboards, and reporting to provide clear financial insights.
  • Partner with department leaders to coordinate and consolidate inputs for the annual budget.
  • Conduct variance analysis and identify key financial trends to support decision-making.
  • Build and refine financial models to guide business decisions.
  • Optimize and implement accounting & FP&A systems to enhance automation and efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, and Product to align financial plans with business priorities.
  • Lead or contribute to process improvements that streamline reporting and analysis.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial insights and support special projects as needed.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • CPA designation (required).
  • 3-5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or corporate accounting.
  • Experience at a Big Four accounting firm or in public accounting is considered a strong foundation for success in this role.
  • Strong understanding of ASPE accounting standards and operational finance.
  • Experience in SaaS or software/technology environments is considered an asset.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP and FP&A tools preferred.
  • Prior experience in FP&A and annual budgeting is an asset.
  • Exceptional analytical ability, attention to detail, and sound professional judgment.
  • Clear and confident communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across teams.
  • A proactive approach, juggling competing priorities with focus and flexibility.
  • You’ve got serious finance chops and an easygoing spirit; you know your debits from your credits and your coconuts from your palms
