The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Section or Senior Engineer to join our team delivering major infrastructure and road projects in the Leiston, Suffolk area. This is a permanent, full-time role offering long-term career development with a well-established civil engineering contractor.
You'll be working on significant infrastructure schemes involving complex groundworks, earthworks, drainage, structures, surfacing and associated civil works. This role suits someone who enjoys being on-site, takes ownership of setting out duties, and thrives in a collaborative, delivery-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate setting out for roads, drainage, structures, and associated works
- Act as the technical lead for your section of works, ensuring compliance with design and quality standards
- Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and the client to ensure smooth delivery of works
- Maintain site records, including diaries, progress reports, and quality checks
- Supervise junior engineers and contribute to their development
- Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times on site
- Assist with the preparation and review of method statements, risk assessments, and permits
Requirements:
- HNC / HND / Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong experience in setting out and delivering road and infrastructure projects
- Valid CSCS card (essential)
- SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)
- Experience supervising teams and managing small sections of work
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment
