Senior Data Scientist - Fintech + AI Innovation | Cape Town (Hybrid) We're supporting a fast-growing South African fintech in their search for a Senior Data Scientist who thrives on turning complex data into actionable insights and scalable models. Join a team passionate about data-driven innovation, building seamless payments, loyalty, and rewards experiences for millions of users. In this role, you'll: Design, build, and deploy models that power loyalty optimisation, transaction prediction, and fraud detection. Dig deep into data to uncover insights that drive real business moves, from product decisions to customer engagement. Experiment with Generative AI tools (e.g., AWS Bedrock and SageMaker) to test new ways of driving value. Partner with product, marketing, and engineering teams to put data at the centre of everything. Help shape the company's long-term data strategy, including data quality and AI ethics. What we're looking for: Around 5+ years in data science, analytics, or a similar field. Strong Python and SQL skills (comfortable with pandas, scikit-learn, etc.). Experience with dashboard tools like AWS QuickSight, Power BI, or Tableau. Exposure to cloud data tools (AWS Glue, Athena, SageMaker, possibly Bedrock).
