Role Purpose

The role based within the Service Consultancy Team is a both an internal and external customer facing role. Working within the Service Consultancy Team, you will provide SME throughout QinetiQ’s service portfolio, including Pre bid and Bid evaluation. Provide advice and guidance within the Service Architecture environment and Service Management practices within projects and programmes.

The purpose of this role is to work with customer facing teams to design and deliver service integration, support and management models to meet customer requirements and service or solution deliverables using the principles and Industry Best Practice methodologies across the full-service lifecycle.

The Service consultant will be required to work in a customer facing role which may include working in a service management and delivery team, with responsibility for the day-to-day operational delivery assurance of managed services across a large complex programme.

The role will require you to work closely with the key customer stakeholders, service teams and 3rd party suppliers to ensure that services are maintained, sustained and that the customer receives exemplary service delivery.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Working as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), provide Service lifecycle input into bid responses and proposals, including the identification and derivation of customer and business requirements and the definition of appropriate support models, with associated costs.
2. Engage with stakeholders ensuring value and benefits of the Service and Technical Operations policies and processes are recognised and understood.
3. Has the ability to work autonomously and can resolve complex issues with minimal guidance.
4. Ensure that all customer solutions and services align to Service and Technical operations policies and processes.
5. Ability to influence stakeholders across various positions and levels.
6. Work with SD&T (Service Design and Transition) colleagues, the Service and Technical Operations teams to ensure service design packages are approved and accepted to enable Service Transition to commence.

Key Capabilities/Knowledge

• Provide advice and guidance to influence Service Architecture to ensure an operationally capable solution to the customer/consumer taking into account customer requirements and needs.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and engage with customers across various positions and levels
• Ability to produce documentation and high-level plans.
• High level of competency in Industry Best Practice service aligned frameworks (Eg: ITIL/SIAM).
• Strong interpersonal skills and can effectively collaborate with others and can demonstrate examples of promoting teamwork across national and multinational teams.
• Excellent communication skills – Lead meetings and the ability to write, present complex subject matters in a clear and concise manner.
• Proven understanding of service lifecycle process, cross functional and organisational design including governance structures and interface definitions.
• Knowledge of SAFe Agile Principles and Practices within large organisations.
• Can advocate for best practice and is able to provide and deliver solutions for continuous improvement.
  

Experience & Qualifications:

• Experience in Service Design and Development within large complex organisations. (Service Architecture)
• Experience of working across diverse services, products and business.
• Leading SAFe certification (Knowledge of the SAFe Agile Roadmap)
• Certified ITIL4 Managing Professional.
• Commercially astute and holds strong business acumen.
• Understands BID Process both in the architecture and Design of services along with documentation production.

Desirable:

• Prince 2 or PMP Project Management experience.
• Having a knowledge and understanding of MoD Governance, Procurement Structures and Assurance Processes.
