Syntronic Production Services Canada Inc, a subsidiary of Swedish based global design house, Syntronic, is an Ottawa based Electronics Contract Manufacturer, with a rich history of quick turn CCA prototyping.
We service the local high-tech community to help bring cutting edge technologies to realization faster, with a focus on customer service and quality. We also collaborate with Syntronic R&D Canada and Syntronic R&D USA, who design cutting-edge software and hardware for various market spaces, including Telecom, IoT, Automotive, MedTech, Industrial, and Consumers.
Now in our 15th year, our next evolution will be to continue our growth in Manufacturing by supporting mid-to high volume electro-mechanical assemblies and expanding our offer in Repair and Aftermarket services.
Business Development is a focus area and a key success factor in driving our ambitious strategic growth efforts. We are now searching for a Senior Business Development Manager to realize these growth targets in close collaboration with the rest of the senior management team, a task which includes expanding and managing an internal Business Development team. In this position, the candidate will report to the VP – Head of Production Services.
The ideal applicant for this role will possess a technical background in Electronics manufacturing, with that experience allowing them to align to and understand our core capability offerings and facilitate effective communication of those capabilities to prospective customers.

What You Will Do

  • Manage and expand existing customer accounts in Canada and the US.
  • Proactively research and develop new business opportunities.
  • Generate interest in Syntronic Production Services within North America.
  • Initiate new customer engagements.
  • Sell and present Syntronic Production Services’ full range of capabilities and value-add services to customers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support customer requests.
  • Develop and present clear and effective written proposals and quotations to customers.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with strategic customers.
  • Organize client meetings, ensuring a thorough understanding of clients’ objectives and needs.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and business development to provide customer support and respond to requests.
  • Manage a new, but growing Business development team.
  • Participate in trade shows and conventions to help determine market/customer needs.
  • Field inbound calls and/or leads.
  • Travel as needed.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronic engineering, telecommunications or similar.
  • 5+ years of relevant sales experience focussed on electronics manufacturing.
  • Experience in different business engagement models is a plus.
  • Background and knowledge of design services and sales of engineering services is a plus.
  • Proven track record of engaging new customers and growing existing customers in a high-paced environment.
  • Resourceful with an aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Results-oriented, able to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English required, fluency in French is an asset.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate product and service offerings, capabilities, and business value.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/accounts with varying degrees of scope simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and CRM tools/software.
  • Valid driver’s license and car.
  • High standards of ethical conduct.
  • Ability to travel within Canada and the US.
